Registration for this event closes at Tue 06 Oct 2026 09:00.

Don Turner was a long time member of Eildon and he played 5 days a week - Ricochet on Mondays, Golf on Tuesday and Friday and AC on Wednesday and Saturday. He was also our green keeper for many years, and was responsible for the ball/hoop trolleys that we use to this day.
Don played croquet almost to the day he died - in his honour we are holding the Don's Day challenge.
Wednesday 7th October 2026.
We will play a simple 2 shot hybrid game that involves elements of GC, RC and AC.
No cost to enter. Please bring a share plate for lunch or morning tea.
Friends and guests welcome
DON’S DAY 2-SHOT RULES
This game of 2-Shot generally follows the rules of GC, with the following modifications/notes:
I: A Turn: A turn involves one or two shots. If Striker’s 1st shot makes a valid Roquet (hits another ball), then Striker can play a 2nd shot which can be used for any purpose. If the striker runs a hoop through an “in-off”, ie. after deflecting off (roqueting) another ball, or touching another ball as they jump through the hoop, they are still entitled to their 2nd shot if the hoop run was their first shot.
II: Order of the Hoops and Winning the Game: Standard order of hoop play, that is, clockwise. Game is to 5 points. Games timed at 45mins.
III: Valid Roquets: A Valid Roquet involves the Striker-Ball contacting any other ball on the 1st shot of a turn.
IV: Offside: a ball is not offside if it reached its resting point as a result of striking, or being struck, by any other ball.
V: The Start of a Game: Balls enter from the standard GC 2nd or 4th corner entry point (opposite entry points will allow for faster play). Play starts at “hoop 1” and then proceeds in standard GC/AC/RC order in a clockwise direction until one team has scored 5 points.
VI. Tie-Breaker Hoop: Next hoop in order.
