I would like to guage how much interest we have in continuing to offer AC at Eildon on Saturday mornings.
I am aware that this session has been offered for decades, and it is one of the beloved traditions of our club. However, this time is no longer popular with Eildon AC players. We often only have two or three turn up to play. On occasion, we may also see early morning private AC sessions organised between a couple of players, which is great, but quite incidental.
We are also facing competition for lawn space from the increasingly popular GC Saturday session. Many of these members can only play at weekends.
By contrast, our Wednesday turn out is very strong, and we host regular visitors from other clubs. Should we concentrate our energy and enthusiasm on making sure that this session is enjoyable, challenging and well-attended?
Of course, if we did move away from organised Saturday mornings, our members would continue to be welcome to enjoy private games whenever possible.
