WELCOME BACK!
2026 is shaping up to be another outstanding year for Eildon Croquet Club, thanks to the commitment and leadership of our talented 2026 Eildon Management Committee (EMC).
No matter our members preference of code or whether it's social or competitive play preferred, our club embraces the intended spirit of croquet and friendship,
We can proudly say our club is exceptional, and with a wonderful mix of new and experienced EMC members, the future looks bright!

A true gentleman; it was a privilege to know him.
Always with integrity and goodwill, Terry generously devoted his time, talents, and skills to our club. Whether lending a helping hand, sharing his expertise, or quietly offering encouragement, Terry always did so respectfully and with a kind word. It was said that there was no handyman job he could not handle.
Terry, a lifetime member of the Eildon Croquet Club, received the Petrie Shield for club volunteer of the year in 2023.
Terry's unwavering strength and determination were truly admirable.
We are grateful for the times we spent with Terry and he will forever remain in our memories as a part of our croquet family.
Terry will be missed by all.
Members and friends are welcome to attend the service for Terry on Monday, 12th January from 11am at the Holly Cross Church, KippaRing. Jill would love club members and friends to attend.

| SAY HELLO TO OUR NEW MEMBERS |
We are delighted to welcome new members to our Club:
· Claire Warriner, who has been a regular visitor to the club, is now making Eildon her second club. Claire is a member of the 2026 State Team Golf Squad.
· Wendy Coombe, after completing the Come and Try and Coaching Program, played with us just before Christmas and absolutely loved the game.
· Aysha Fox, who previously played in South Australia at Tea Tree Gully Croquet Club, has recently moved to Queensland to be closer to her family.
· Susan Boughton and Stuart Boughton, having completed the Come and Try and Coaching Program, joined us on the lawns before Christmas and were part of our end-of-year celebration. They too, loved the game!
Please help make them feel at home as they settle in and become part of our croquet community. |
| THE CROQUET YEAR AHEAD: 2026 |
The new Croquet year is about to start, and 2026 is sure to be another exciting year.
If you're thinking about trying something different—perhaps it's joining in your first Gala Day or Sunday Singles, entering events at another club, or simply having a go at a new croquet code—this could be a great moment to venture forth!
The link below will take you to the Croquet Qld website page, for the calendar of Croquet Qld and Club Region Events for 2026.

Some of our members are already getting amongst it, with Eildon Golf players entering the Wynnum Golf Doubles at the end of January. We’ve also got players heading to the Darling Downs Tournament, Toowoomba at the end of February. Places are still available.
The Sunshine Coast Golf – Noosa events at the beginning of March have been extremely popular—Division 2, Open Singles, and Doubles are already full. If you are Division 3 (handicap 9 to 12) and want to play on Noosa’s lovely lawns, there are still spots available.
If you’d rather stick close to home, our Club play times are as per usual.

Organised play commences on 12th January.

It maybe time to dust off your mallets, check your grip, have a practice swing and get ready for an impressive year of croquet! |
With the aim of promoting the game of croquet and our club, and like most croquet clubs, we also have a social media presence on Facebook (FB). If you are not a subscriber to FB, below are the stories we shared during December. |
Our "End of Year Presentations and Lunch" is always a great way to finish the year—a time to catch up off the lawns, have some laughs, and loads of well-earned recognition for our 2025 Club Champions.
Captains handed out trophies for each code, and VP Megan did a brilliant job as MC, stepping in for our President, Jill.

Congratulations to Kay, our Club Providore for her well deserved recognition as 2025 Club Legend. Thank you Kay!
The morning tea was as tasty as ever, and the raffle, organized by our Social Committee with all prizes kindly donated, was a favourite.
It was pleasing to welcome Councillor Karl Winchester and Scott from Moreton Bay Council, along with Gwenyth, our retiring Patron, and a life member, and Willomena representing the Breakfast Club.
Thank you for a most enjoyable end of year celebration.
After all the applause and morning tea, members made their way to the Belvedere Hotel for lunch, finishing the day in true Eildon style!!.
A great day was had by all!

| THE REDCLIFFE BREAKFAST CLUB |
Eildon Croquet Club members, Judy and Peter, called into the Redcliffe Breakfast Club to deliver our club’s final donation for 2025.

We are delighted to announce that our support for the Breakfast Club will continue into 2026, reflecting our members appreciation for the vital work they do in our community.
This time of the year is especially busy with 600 Christmas hampers given out by the Breakfast Club across the region. What an incredible effort!

Over the weekend, the club played host to two celebrations—a themed birthday party and a staff end-of-year breakup.
Guests enjoyed time on the clubhouse deck, and then with plenty of friendly ribbing, and laughs, took to the lawns, determined to win at croquet against their colleagues/mates!
Our club volunteers were on hand to help and were genuinely impressed by the accurate shots!
Both events were an enormous success—everyone had a brilliant time, gave croquet a go, and left with fantastic memories.
Big thanks to our Club Hire Co-ordinator for always going that extra mile and club volunteers for all their help on the day.
